Our Story
Perthshire PAT Services Ltd was founded out of a desire for independence, quality, and true service. Initially started through a partnership between Steve Stalker and Bruce Thomson, the company began its journey with two friends who, despite having backgrounds in retail management and the postal service rather than electrical safety, saw a gap in the market for reliable, thorough, and customer-focused PAT testing.
Over 1 Million Items Tested
Bruce moved on in 2010, and the company continued to grow under Steve's leadership, moving from a partnership to a respected sole trader business and, most recently, to full incorporation in 2025 to enable further expansion.
What Drives Us
Our founding vision was to elevate the standards of PAT testing. We'd seen rushed and incomplete work done elsewhere and vowed to do things better. That vision still drives us today—we carry out every job with meticulous care, ensuring not just compliance, but true electrical safety for our clients.
We believe in delivering a service that inspires peace of mind, leaving every workplace safer and neater than when we arrived.
Milestones & Growth
We are proud to test across a large portion of the Perth and Kinross Council, in partnership with JGM, with approximately 500,000 items tested over the past six years alone.
Our commitment to value and service has meant we retain a high percentage of customers in a price-driven industry.
Since 2022, we have grown our team by four, each new member bringing pride and personal investment in our shared success.
In January 2025, we moved into new, larger premises, providing space for continued growth, a place for clients to bring equipment directly to us, and the capacity to handle larger-scale projects.
In 2025, Perthshire PAT Services Ltd became incorporated, laying the foundation for even greater service and new opportunities.

Perthshire PAT Services Ltd achieves what others can't: We're big enough to manage contracts covering thousands of items and hundreds of locations across Scotland, yet small enough to treat every job—from 1-10 items to over 7,000 items—as vitally important. We can cover the whole of Scotland.
Our Customers
We serve a wide variety of clients, from local community halls and private landlords to large businesses with multiple sites across Scotland. Since 2008, we have tested well over 1 million items, including major contracts and one-off specialist projects.

Giving Back
We are proud to support our local community by providing complimentary PAT testing to several charities. For us, giving back is not just an obligation, but a core part of who we are.
Charities we support include: Starter Packs Perth, Buttons and Bows, RASAC, and the Scottish Air Ambulance Service, amongst others.
